Semi-protected edit request on 1 February 2025

[edit]

I request for the Category:Genocides in South America to be added to the External links, since the Category:Genocides in North America is already added to the External links and the Atlantic slave trade also took place in Brazil and some Caribbean countries, which are located in South America.2A0A:EF40:1D1D:2601:687D:D885:B1D3:FEA5 (talk) 11:32, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I request for the Atrocities in the Congo Free State, Bukhara slave trade, Serfdom in Russia and Slavery in Libya to be added to the See also section (not External links), please. 2A0A:EF40:1266:8501:8117:9632:A035:882C (talk) 17:15, 25 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

information Note: These would be added to the "See also" section, not "External links", as you have given wikilinks to articles on Wikipedia. External links are for links that aren't Wikipedia. That said, I cannot action this request as I am not knowledgeable enough in the subject matter to determine if 1 or more of the wikilinks provided would be appropriate in "See also". —Sirdog (talk) 23:47, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I meant the See also section of the main page (not External links), sorry. Can you please add those Wikipedia pages to the See also section, please.2A0A:EF40:1266:8501:5582:255D:2DF6:35A (talk) 10:53, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - Please do not spam requests to the Reference Desk to read your edit request. You could have registered an account and made the edits by now. Robert McClenon (talk) 04:48, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

That's a bit peremptory, isn't it, Robert McClenon. Some people may have reasons of their own to not want an account: I've been editing here for approaching 20 years without one.
I suggest you revert your templates, in case another accounted User actually wants to be helpful rather than to chivvy an IP newbie on probably their first day. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.1905} 94.8.123.129 (talk) 16:32, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't their first day. Check the timestamps in the history. They made that request on 25 February, and edited it on 2 March. They had made similar requests on 1 February and 18 February. I closed the request, not because it came from an unregistered editor, but because they spammed it on 2 March to the Reference Desk. Check the history before you scold. I request for the Atrocities in the Congo Free State, Bukhara slave trade, Khivan slave trade and Serfdom in Russia to be added to the See also section, please. 2A0A:EF40:128A:C401:EC6C:706E:288E:8831 (talk) 13:49, 8 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I edited my edit request because the Libyan slave trade was part of the Trans-Saharan slave trade which is already added to the See also section. 2A0A:EF40:1266:8501:31C3:17F1:6DAB:9226 (talk) 15:04, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
